Ski Resorts Pray For Snow During World Series

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) ― Snow during nationwide broadcasts from Denver means invaluable marketing for ski resorts. It reminds people that it's ski season.

Many of the ski areas in Colorado are world class resorts. People come from all over the U.S. and different continents to ski and board.

With the type of publicity the World Series is going to receive, if there is any snow during that time, the ski areas are expecting calls. They've seen it before with football games.

"During a football game, from my past experience with reservations, if it does snow, we see a spike in calls," a resort employee said. "If it's broadcast nationally, folks in Ohio are still in 85 degree weather in October. They see the snow in Colorado and they start thinking about skiing."

Loveland and Arapahoe Basin have already opened and days of natural snow have really added to the man-made snow.
