Fortune 500 DaVita To Move Headquarters To Denver

DENVER (CBS4) ― Colorado is welcoming its 12th Fortune 500 company to the state. It's kidney care giant DaVita.

DaVita is moving its cooperate headquarters to the Denver area from where they're currently based in El Segundo, Calif.

DaVita already employs 800 people in Colorado.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper says moving DaVita's headquarters means more than just jobs.

"Suddenly we get a whole new influx of civic leaders; of people, who part of their self-awareness, part of how they go about their business, is not just how they build a successful business and enterprise, but also building a successful city," Hickenlooper said.

DaVita provides dialysis for kidney disease patients.
