Bank Bailout Panel Coming To Greeley

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) ― The Congressional Oversight Panel meets in Greeley next week to discuss whether banks are doing enough to share their bailout funds.

The five-member panel convenes at the Centennial Center on Tuesday. It is expected to hear from farmers struggling to find lenders, and local bankers discussing their lending strategies.

The panel was created to oversee the spending for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP.

New Frontier Bank in Greeley failed in April, and area farmers and ranchers have complained of difficulty getting loans.
