DENVER (AP) ― A suspect in the slaying of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams has appeared in court in a separate homicide case.

Willie Clark is charged in the 2006 shooting death of Kalonniann Clark, a Denver resident. He was supposed to enter a plea Friday, but his arraignment was postponed until Oct. 2.

Clark also is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Williams on New Year's Day 2007. Trial in that case is scheduled for Oct. 13.
