By Arnie Stapleton, AP Sports Writer
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) ― One of the big reasons the Denver Broncos were able to beat the New York Jets so handily on Sunday was the play of center Casey Wiegmann on Kris Jenkins, the 6-foot-4, 350-pound defensive tackle.

How were the Broncos able to neutralize Jenkins, who, along with Brett Favre, have revitalized the Jets?

"Pass, run, screens, you've just got to mix it up a little bit," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. "I'm not sure if we neutralized him, but I thought Casey did a great job as well as our guards holding him in check."

Jenkins outweighs Wiegmann by at least 70 pounds.

"Probably more than that," Shanahan said. "It just shows you how Casey's a great competitor, he's been playing the game for a long time. It was a great challenge for him, and he played exceptionally well."

The Broncos again didn't give up a sack Sunday.

In left tackle Ryan Clady and right tackle Ryan Harris, the Broncos feature two of the three players who haven't allowed a full sack so far. Both Clady, a rookie, and Harris, a first-year starter, have been credited with a half-sack this season.

"I felt pretty good through preseason, like I shared with you guys before. I thought we had a very young offensive line but a very talented offensive line," Shanahan said.

The Broncos are allowing about one sack per 100 drop-backs.

"If you told me we were going to be leading the NFL in (fewest) sacks (allowed) at this time of the year, that would surprise me," Shanahan said. "I'm very pleased with the progress that they've made and how competitive they are."
