Denver Broncos center Tom Nalen definitely won't play in next Monday night's game against the Oakland Raiders, according to a the Broncos injury report released Wednesday.
Nalen continues to recover from offseason surgery on his left knee.
The 15-year veteran's 2007 season was cut short by a torn right biceps after five games. He is the only player remaining from the Broncos' back-to-back Super Bowl winners in the 1990s.
Nalen's slow recovery has made center Casey Wiegmann the Broncos' most important free agent signing.
Wiegmann, entering his 13th NFL season, spent the last seven seasons with AFC West rival Kansas City. He started 111 consecutive games in the regular season, the longest active streak among NFL centers.
The only other Broncos player on the roster who is guaranteed not to play Monday is running back Ryan Torain, who is expected to miss most of the first half of the season with an elbow injury.
Linebacker Louis Green has a hamstring injury and didn't participate in Wednesday's practices.
