NEW YORK (CBS4/AP) ― CBS4 will continue airing Denver Broncos and AFC football games for at least the next five seasons after new deals were reached by the NFL and its broadcast networks.  The agreements are extensions that keep the AFC on CBS and the NFC on FOX through the 2013/14 season.

The separate two-year extensions give CBS the rights to broadcast the Super Bowl following the 2012 season. New Orleans will be the site.  The city was awarded Super Bowl XLVII on Tuesday.

"We are extremely pleased to extend this agreement as well as our successful partnership with the NFL, which continues to prove that NFL football is the premier property in all of sports and the number one-rated franchise in all of sports television," president of CBS News and Sports Sean McManus said in a statement.

Fox will continue to televise NFC games and was awarded the rights to air the Super Bowl after the 2013 season.

"FOX Sports is pleased to have reached this two year broadcast rights extension with the NFL," FOX Sports chairman David Hill said. "The NFL on FOX has been the centerpiece of the network's big-event sports strategy for 15 years, and the NFC package is clearly the most-watched and highest-rated the NFL has to offer."

The NFL also reached a deal Tuesday with Comcast Corp., the nation's largest cable TV operator, to air the NFL Network on its second-most popular digital tier of service.

Here in Denver, CBS4 is the official television home of the Denver Broncos through a separate agreement between the station and the team.

"The Broncos are the cornerstone of sports broadcasting in Colorado," CBS4 Vice President and General Manager Walt DeHaven said. "We're excited to be the network partner for the NFL for two more years."
