DENVER (CBS4) ― The Denver Broncos have told CBS4 Broncos Insider Gary Miller, the team is absolutely not going to trade quarterback Jay Cutler.  There had been wide spread speculation in recent days that Cutler might be dealt.  But on Tuesday afternoon, the team's announcement put to bed once and for all any chance that the Pro Bowl quarterback would be leaving Denver.

Head Coach Josh McDaniels will have a face-to-face meeting with Cutler sometime next week when the quarterback is due to return to Colorado.

Talks between the team and Cutler had been on hold after a dramatic weekend when the team explored trading the quarterback.  At one point, a three-way deal was in the works with the Patriots and Buccaneers. The proposed trade would've sent Cutler to Tampa and Matt Cassel to Denver. That deal fell apart when Cassel was traded to the Chiefs Saturday morning.

As the news swirled, Cutler told CBS4 Broncos Insider Vic Lombardi he was angry and hurt by the team's effort to trade him, and he had no plans to speak to the Broncos anytime soon.  But now that impasse appears to be over.  The two sides will meet next week, and any chance of a trade is now off the table.
