DENVER (CBS4) ― It's now official.  CBS4 Broncos Insider Gary Miller confirmed it Saturday morning.  Former Eagles Safety Brian Dawkins has now signed with the Denver Broncos.  It's believed to be a five year deal. 

Dawkins will be heading into his 14th season in the NFL.  Up until now he had spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Eagles. 

CBS4 Broncos Insider Vic Lombardi confirms that the Broncos have added two more pieces to the defensive side of the ball.  Late Friday, Cleveland Browns Linebacker Andra Davis and Indianapolis Colts Defensive Tackle Darrell Reid inked contracts to help shore up the much-maligned defense.  Davis will play Inside Linebacker in the 3-4 defense Head Coach Josh McDaniels will implement.  Reid was a Defensive Tackle with the Colts, but he may see some time at linebacker as well.

The Broncos were very busy on the opening day of free agency.  Patriots Wide Receiver Jabar Gaffney and Dolphins Safety Renaldo Hill reached agreements Friday afternoon. 

The day begin with the Broncos signing a pair of Running Backs.  Brian Dawkins' Philly teammate Correll Buckhalter and the Cardinals J.J. Arrington.

And you knew Josh McDaniels was likely to bring in some familar faces from the Patriots, but Long Snapper Lonie Paxton?  We learned earlier in the day that Paxton was coming to Denver.  That would likely mean that Mike Leach's 7 year run as the Broncos long snapper is over.  That would be a shame from our selfish perspective, Leach is one of the really good guys in sports.
