Broncos Run Into Free Agency

DENVER (CBS4) ― The Denver Broncos are off and running in free agency.  CBS4 Sports' Vic Lombardi has learned the Broncos have come to terms with running backs Correll Buckhalter of the Philadelphia Eagles and J.J. Arrington of the Arizona Cardinals.

Buckhalter and Arrington are due to arrive in Denver on Friday.  The contract agreements are contingent upon both passing their physicals.  The exact terms of the deals are not known just yet.

Friday could be a very busy day for the Broncos.  Several more deals are expected to get done before the close of business.  Sources tells Vic that as many as six deals could be announced on the opening day of free agency.

As for Buckhalter and Arrington, both are considered multi-purpose backs who can carry the ball or catch passes out of the backfield.  Neither has ever been a full-time starter in the NFL.

Here are the resumes on the two newest Broncos.

Correll Buckhalter
Height: 6'0"   Weight:  217   Age: 30
College: Nebraska   Experience: 8 years

In 2008, Buckhalter appeared in 14 regular season games and all three of the Eagles playoff contests.  He carried the ball 76 times for 369 yards (4.9 avg.).  Buckhalter caught 26 passes for 324 yards (12.5 avg.) 

J.J. Arrington
Height 5'9"   Weight: 212   Age: 26
College: California   Experience: 4 years

In 2008, Arrington appeared in 11 regular season games and all 4 of the Cardinals playoff contests including Super Bowl XLIII.  He carried the ball 31 times for 187 yards (6.0 avg.).  Arrington caught 29 passes for 255 yards (8.8 avg.).
