DENVER (CBS4) ― CBS4 has learned that disgruntled Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler is no longer in Denver and is done negotiating with the team. Cutler will not be attending Monday's voluntary team workout. Sources tell CBS4 he has told the Broncos to trade him.

Cutler and his agent met face-to-face with the Broncos Saturday where no progress was made between the quarterback and his new head coach.

Cutler recently put his house on the market. We're told that the timing of the sale is merely coincidence. Cutler had been planning to sell the house for several months.

CBS4 has also learned that tight end Tony Scheffler intends on skipping Monday's voluntary session.

Analysis: The Cutler-McDaniels Feud

Has new head coach Josh McDaniels sabotaged his credibility in the Denver Broncos locker room? CBS4 Broncos Insider Reggie Rivers writes that although the rift with quarterback Jay Cutler is the issue that has drawn the most public attention, another similar personnel matter also has some players concerned.

On Monday the CBS4 Morning News asked for instant messages on the Jay Cutler - Josh McDaniels feud. The opinions we received were pretty evenly split over who is to blame for the situation.

Mary in Denver wrote: "Both Josh and Jay need to understand what leadership is. They both need to learn to work together. McDaniels sounds more and more like a dictator. It was the Broncos TEAM who didn't get into the Playoffs - not Jay Cutler. And if the Broncos DO trade Jay, who will they replace him with? It is our defense that kept us out of the playoffs!"

From Mimie in Lakewood: "Jay is right, the problem here is the greedy owner who uses people."

Sandra in Aurora: "I think it's a bad decision to let Jay Cutler leave. McDaniels should have reassured him immediately that he is our man and avoided this whole situation! Mike Shanahan would have never let this happen. Don't fix what is not broken!"

Bill in Aurora wrote: "If Jay Cutler wants to be traded let him go. Denver needs a quarterback who willing to step up and do what's best for the team and the franchise."

From Tracie in Hanna, WY: "I am disappointed with the Broncos, Elway went thru the same thing. Everyone needs to remember there is no 'I' in 'team.' It's going to take teamwork on everyone's part to resolve this!"

Debbie in Brighton: "It's too bad Jay Cutler's mommy and daddy allowed him to have temper tantrums. He hasn't outgrown his childish behavior! GROW UP!"

Paula in Castle Rock wrote: "I keep hearing that the Cutler thing started with possible trade talks. I think it started with Cutler being upset when Shanahan was let go. He thought he should have been 'informed' or 'asked' about that decision! It's a business Jay!"

From Kent in Reunion: "I am looking forward to the new, smart, up-to-date head coach McDaniels and his plans. He should have traded Cutler for Matt Cassel when he had the chance. He gave Cutler first dibs, and now Cutler is being a baby, a '25 or so Million Dollar Baby.'"

Tonya in Longmont: "If my boss was thinking about replacing me, I would do everything I could to prove to him that I'm the one for the job. That's all Jay needs to do - prove to the new coach that you're the best quarterback and that nobody could replace you. Jay, you are forgetting that you play football for the fans too. Don't leave Colorado! Prove him wrong!"

Ray in Arvada wrote: "Jay Cutler is correct to move on. Chris Simms was a pretty good quarterback before he was hurt. Simms was paid way too much to be a backup. Do you realize how badly McDaniels messed this up? Jay is a Pro Bowl Quarterback. Jay will win a Super Bowl. It just won't be for the Broncos. Bowlen is responsible. This is the beginning of a rebuilding year/decade. Bowlen's ego has to be questioned here, not our quarterback."

From Brian in Aurora: "TRADE HIM!!! We don't want any cry-babies anyway."

Wendy in Wray: "McDaniels hasn't even coached a down yet and he is making news for all the wrong reasons. Jay put forth a good faith effort but all McDaniels wants to talk about is Cassel. As for Mr. Bowlen, who has admitted that he doesn't know a lot about football, he is in the wrong on this issue."

Carrie in Wray wrote: "As in any job, if you don't want to WORK, there are many others ready to take your place Cutler!"
