After 30 years of cheering on the Denver Broncos the Barrel Man says it's time to retire.
Tim McKernan was honored at Sunday's Broncos game. The fans cheered as his name was mentioned and the Broncos gave him a game ball.
McKernan said he tried to retire 15 years ago, but wasn't ready. He said now the time is right.
"We all have to retire sometime. The players, their bodies give out and this one is giving out on me," McKernan said. "We'll still be in the stands. The Barrel Man will still be here."
McKernan talked about his icon status and getting inducted into the National Football League Hall of Fame when he sat down for CBS4's Breakfast with Brooke last year.
