DENVER (AP) ―

Denver Broncos third-year wide receiver Brandon Marshall's possible suspension doesn't seem to be affecting his on-field performance.

"I'm having great day playing football," said Marshall after Saturday's practice. "I'm having a real good time out on the field."

Marshall has remained silent about a recent meeting in New York with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell concerning the 24-year-old's string of off-the-field legal troubles.

Marshall has been arrested three times in the past year. He's due in court in September for a trial on a drunken driving arrest from October 2007.

The Broncos expect to hear back from the league about a possible suspension as soon as next week.

Still, Marshall's play energized his teammates and left players chattering on the sideline. Teammates can expect it when they can't cope with a nifty move, his vertical leap or large wing span.

This was on display when he picked on practically every member of the secondary. And without a drop to be seen among the dozen or so balls he caught.

"Brandon is in a zone," said cornerback Karl Paymah. "As long as he's not in a zone on me, I'm good."

Marshall entered his zone when quarterback Jay Cutler found him along the sideline with cornerback Domonique Foxworth draped all over him. The ball was caught in stride with a befuddled Foxworth looking on as the receiver pranced into the end zone.

Moments later it was Dre' Bly's turn. The 6-foot-4-inch Marshall, reaching up over the 5-10 Bly for a TD catch.

"Certain throws that Jay makes, Brandon will be the only one that can get it because of his height and his ability to go up and make big plays," Bly said. "Brandon is a good football player. He's having a good camp."

Marshall victimized Paymah in similar fashion for his next TD catch.

"It's just an offense game now where when he goes up like that, I don't want to get him hurt," Paymah said. "I'm going to let him go up because he's in a dangerous position right there."

Marshall showed his speed running away from Marlon McCree on a crossing pattern for his fourth touchdown. His fifth score came when he caught a ball on his back with Foxworth trying to swat away the ball.

He got up with a brief emotion outburst.

"Yeah. Yeah," said Marshall toward Foxworth before walking away.

Marshall, who is coming off a 102-catch season, capped his day by making a catch while on his knees and surrounded by several defenders. Moments later coach Mike Shanahan mercifully ended practice and the day for Marshall's victims.

"He's the guy in our offense so Jay is going to look for him every time," Bly said. "When you have a guy as talented as he is, he gives us a workout every day.

Marshall's meeting with Goodell was in mid-July. He took now-retired teammate Rod Smith with him.
