Raj Chohan is an award winning general assignment reporter and the driving force behind CBS4's critically acclaimed news franchise "Reality Check." He also hosts KBDI's flagship public affairs roundtable "Colorado Inside Out."
Raj has been with CBS4 since 1998, after doing stints in Rockford, Illinois and Grand Rapids, Michigan. After arriving in Denver, Chohan quickly picked up the station's coverage of the JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation in which he broke several significant stories. He has also covered the Columbine shootings, the western wildfires, and the Ward Churchill controversy. Other distinctive stories include the execution of serial killer John Wayne Gacy in Illinois, and the story of a Michigan school teacher who was persecuted for being gay. Chohan's investigative work exposed two rival teachers who illegally used school records to undermine the gay teacher's career.
Chohan's reporting has won two regional Edward R. Murrow awards (2003, 2007) along with First Place reporting awards from the Colorado Broadcasters Association (2006) and the Michigan Associated Press (1997,1998). He has also received numerous Emmy nominations. In 2007, Westword newspaper named Chohan one of Denver's Best TV Fact Checkers.
Raj grew up in the Chicago area and completed his Bachelor and Master's degrees at Northern Illinois University.
In addition to his reporting duties at CBS4, Raj is also working on a law degree at the University of Denver. For the Chohans, journalism runs in the family. Raj is married to CBS4 News reporter Shaun Boyd. They have two wonderful children, a son and daughter (twins). Raj's favorite time is the time he spends with his family.
His hobbies include hiking, home improvement, and writing and performing music with his college rock band "The Essentials."
