Jennifer Zeppelin
Predicting Colorado's weather can be tricky, but meteorologist Jennifer Zeppelin enjoys the challenge. The March 2003 blizzard is a perfect example of how quickly the weather can change.
Later that year it wasn't snow but severe weather that kept Jennifer and the Colorado WeatherCenter on alert." A family in Adams County emailed the station to tell us that our tornado warnings and street level coverage saved their lives", says Jennifer. "The Adams County family took cover just in time before a tornado blew out the windows in their home."
Because of Jennifer's love for weather and the broadcast business, she decided to combine her interests in Communications and Meteorology. She received a double degree from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences.
Jennifer has been awarded the prestigious seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.
Before joining CBS4 in 1999, she worked in San Antonio, Shreveport, Jackson and Hattiesburg, Miss. In her spare time, Jennifer helps out with numerous charities, including the Alzheimer's Association and the March of Dimes. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Jim and son Jordan.
